VISITING
Where should I park?
There is a free parking lot at the rear of the Museum off Baldwin Street. The Museum is accessible from the parking lot via a sidewalk along the south side of the building.

Is there an admission charge?
General admission is $7.00, college students and senior citizens over 55 years are $5.00. Children under 18 are free. Guests who hold memberships with any museum participating in either the Empire State Museums Reciprocal Program or the North American Reciprocal Museum Program will be admitted for free. Members are always free. 

Is there a gift shop?
The Museum currently has a selection of collection catalogues available for purchase in the reception area.

Does the Museum have a café or restaurant?
The Museum does not have dining facilities on site. Food or drinks are not allowed in the galleries. There are places to dine in downtown Elmira within walking distance of the Museum. Guest Services will be happy to furnish you with a list of near-by restaurants.

Is the Museum wheelchair/handicap accessible?
The Museum provides ramp access via a sidewalk along the south side of the building. There are allocated parking spaces behind the building, adjacent to this entrance's walkway. The guest restrooms provide accessible facilities and the Museum does have an elevator. Additionally, there is a wheelchair available for public use within the Museum.

Can I carry a bag in the Museum?
Small bags and purses are permitted inside the Museum. Any large bags or backpacks will need to be placed in the coatroom or with guest services.

EDUCATION & TOURS
I’m writing a paper. Can the Museum help me do research?
The Museum has an art library with a browsable online database. Materials may be used inside the Museum but may not be taken from the facility. Please call ahead to make an appointment to use the library.

Are guided tours of the Museum offered?
All guided tours must be scheduled prior to your visit. However, the Guest Services administrator is well-versed in the history of the Museum and area and will gladly give you a brief introduction to the founding collection Picture Gallery.

What education programs does the Museum offer?
The Museum offers many options for groups of all ages and experience levels. Please click here for more information.

Does the Museum have scheduled art classes?
The Museum does not hold any art instructional classes.

Can I volunteer at the Museum?
Absolutely. The Museum has volunteer positions available for many different interest and skill sets. Please contact us to find out more.

How do I become a member?
You may stop by the Guest Services desk or call our Business Manager, at 607.734.3697 ext. 127.

IMAGE POLICIES
Is photography allowed in the Museum?
Photography and video is only permitted in our Picture Gallery. All other galleries are subject to change in policy. Please contact us to discuss your request.

Is sketching permitted in the Museum?
Sketching with pencils and paper is permitted in the Museum. Use of all other materials is not permitted unless by prior arrangement with the curatorial staff.

Anyone wishing to use text, images or content from this website or from the Arnot Art Museum collection must obtain prior written approval. Permission for such use is granted on a case-by-case basis at the sole discretion of the Arnot Art Museum. A usage fee may be charged depending on the nature of the proposed use. How do I donate an artwork to the Museum?
