Artists must be 18 or older and live in Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island or Vermont. Work over 5 years old or shown before in any Arnot Art Museum exhibition is not eligible. There is a maximum of two entries per artist.
Although the Arnot Art Museum maintains a primary focus on representational art, the Museum welcomes the submission of non-objective work for the biennial Regional Exhibitions.
All painting and drawing media, sculpture, graphics, photography, clay, textiles, jewelry, wood or metal work, and mixed media are eligible for entry. Works should not exceed 96 inches in any dimension or weigh more than 150 pounds.
Works must be framed or otherwise ready for hanging/installation. Artists proposing to submit work requiring specialized installation should confer with Museum staff before the entry deadline.
SUBMISSION & SELECTION
Selection of works to be exhibited will be made from digital files submitted to the Museum. Artwork must be submitted as a JPG file, with print size at least 5” in the smaller dimension, at 300 dpi. Artists with 3D work should submit 2 views of each entry, e.g. front and back, or full view and a significant detail. A work will be disqualified if the digital image(s) misrepresent the work in quality or form.
Image files should be named as follows: LastNameFirstInitial_WorkTitle.jpg. Untitled works should use descriptions of the work in place of the title in the file name. Two examples: SmithJ_Weightless.jpg or RamirezE_UntitledPortrait.jpg.
DELIVERY & PICKUP
Artwork selected for the exhibition must be delivered to the Museum between the hours of 10am and 3pm on 31 March, 1 or 2 April 2016. Work shipped by a common carrier (FedEx, UPS, USPS, etc.) must be shipped pre-paid; you must also include a pre-paid return shipping label for use at the end of the exhibition.
