Juried Competition Information
This page outlines the regulations and procedures for entering the 75th Regional Art Exhibition at the Arnot Art Museum. If you have further questions or concerns, please contact Collections Manager, Laura Wetmore, at 607.734.3697 ext. 131, or by email, at .

Artists must be 18 or older and live in Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island or Vermont. Work over 5 years old or shown before in any Arnot Art Museum exhibition is not eligible. There is a maximum of two entries per artist.

Although the Arnot Art Museum maintains a primary focus on representational art, the Museum welcomes the submission of non-objective work for the biennial Regional Exhibitions.

All painting and drawing media, sculpture, graphics, photography, clay, textiles, jewelry, wood or metal work, and mixed media are eligible for entry. Works should not exceed 96 inches in any dimension or weigh more than 150 pounds.
Works must be framed or otherwise ready for hanging/installation. Artists proposing to submit work requiring specialized installation should confer with Museum staff before the entry deadline.

Selection of works to be exhibited will be made from digital files submitted to the Museum. Artwork must be submitted as a JPG file, with print size at least 5” in the smaller dimension, at 300 dpi. Artists with 3D work should submit 2 views of each entry, e.g. front and back, or full view and a significant detail. A work will be disqualified if the digital image(s) misrepresent the work in quality or form.
Image files should be named as follows: LastNameFirstInitial_WorkTitle.jpg. Untitled works should use descriptions of the work in place of the title in the file name.  Two examples: SmithJ_Weightless.jpg or RamirezE_UntitledPortrait.jpg.

Artwork selected for the exhibition must be delivered to the Museum between the hours of 10am and 3pm on 31 March, 1 or 2 April 2016. Work shipped by a common carrier (FedEx, UPS, USPS, etc.) must be shipped pre-paid; you must also include a pre-paid return shipping label for use at the end of the exhibition.

The non-refundable entry fee is $40 for one or two entries ($25 for Museum members). Fill out the Entry Form in this prospectus and enclose with digital images on CD or DVD. Checks should be made out to Arnot Art Museum. Images and payment must be hand-delivered or postmarked by 5:00pm on 26 February 2016.

The Arnot Art Museum reserves the right of review for inclusion of all works submitted for the exhibition, and the Museum maintains final approval over the installation design. The entry of any work to the exhibition is an agreement by the artist to the conditions of this prospectus. No accepted work may be withdrawn by the artist before the close of the exhibition.

For insurance purposes, artists whose accepted works are valued over $500 must provide evidence of the stated value in the form of a recent sales receipt for a similar work. Unless works are noted as not-for-sale, sales are encouraged and a 40% commission will be taken on sales made during the exhibition.

Artists whose works are selected for the exhibition receive 2 complimentary ceremony tickets for the Gala Reception and Awards Ceremony to be held on 15 April 2016.  The 75th Regional Exhibition offers $10,000 in cash awards to be distributed among the juror selections.
